Acute Care

Did you just suffer and injury? Not sure where to go? We can be your first (and hopefully only) stop. The progression of an injury is very much dictated by how it is treated within the first 72 hours. Many clients that come in with chronic problems have a history of an injury that never healed from the initial insult.

Acute Care Steve Treats Patient

An acute injury evaluation can provide vital data to you as the client and to other medical practitioners as well. Through detailed tests and measures as well as a hands-on evaluation process we can discover the extent of the injury. After diagnosis we will perform treatment if indicated or refer you to the appropriate specialist. Some people need to be put on crutches and sent to an orthopedic specialist. Most limp in and walk out feeling better after the first treatment, with a tentative plan in place for recovery. We will tell you specifically how to proceed with recovery from your injury, providing a hypothetical diagnosis, prognosis, recommendations on further medical care and recommendations for additional treatment. In almost every case a second treatment will be set for 48 hours later.

A second treatment provides very useful data in diagnosis and prognosis of an injury. If there is a dramatic improvement, treatment can be progressed and we can discuss return to sport or lifestyle. If the injury is still acute we can proceed with treatment and discuss joint protection or modification to lifestyle or exercise. Every injury is unique and needs to be “listened to” to assure the fastest path to recovery and to get you back to living your best life. Emergency appointments available.
